Vietnamese Cashew Nut Exports in Q1: Joy and Challenges for the Industry

However, besides the joy of high export turnover, the Vietnamese cashew nut industry is also facing a number of challenges. The average export price of cashew nuts in the first quarter was estimated at US$5,329/ton, a decrease of 8.6% compared to the same period in 2023.

Price fluctuations, fierce competition from other exporting countries such as India, Côte d’Ivoire, Brazil, and a shortage of raw materials due to the decrease in cashew nut planting area and low productivity are major challenges that the cashew nut industry needs to address.
